The city of Folsom is preparing for its annual Community Service Day, inviting locals to get involved in a widespread volunteer effort scheduled for September 20. According to a recent announcement, the event is on the hunt for a whopping 1,500-plus volunteers to roll up their sleeves and tackle various projects to benefit the entire community. Initiating its 12th iteration, this large-scale day of good deeds has solidified as Folsom's most significant volunteer event.
Prospective volunteers were alerted that registration kicked off on August 4, except for those eyeing school-related projects in the FCUSD, which will open up on September 1. Participants were urged by the event organizers, as reported by the City of Folsom official release, to "sign up early and select a project they wish to support." In a dance with logistics and limits, not all friends may be able to work as a team, given the finite spaces in each project and the goal to offer equal opportunities across the board.
Named by the organizers, a host of sponsors are stepping in to support Folsom's day of community strengthening and goodwill. Dignity Health and the City of Folsom take the lead in presenting the event, followed closely by a list of Visionary Sponsors like Lennar and Lakeside Church, all of whom have played essential roles in the day's historical successes. Leader Sponsors and Partner Sponsors—comprising local organizations and businesses—are also recognized for their contributions, ranging from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the law office of Sean Musgrove and SMUD, an anchor in the tide of collective effort.
For those game to lend their time and energy to this citywide cause, complete details and the volunteer application process have been made available on the city's official Community Service Day webpage. With a spectrum of projects to choose from and an emphasis on local enhancement, Folsom seeks to cultivate a robust turnout that embodies the community spirit.
