According to PSNews, officers ultimately breached the Dunbarton Circle residence using “The ROOK,” a specialized tactical vehicle, and deployed CS gas before taking the suspect into custody. The Sacramento City Council approved the purchase of The ROOK in early 2023, a Level IV armored safety vehicle built on a Cat Compact Track Loader chassis intended to assist SWAT officers during high-risk barricades, hostage situations and extractions, per the Sacramento City Express.
