A former lieutenant with the Milton Police Department, Christopher Bradshaw, has been detained and is facing charges in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on Interstate 75. Bradshaw, who was off-duty at the time of the collision, has been accused of hitting 38-year-old Terrell Lowdermilk near South Marietta Parkway last Wednesday, August 13, which tragically resulted in Lowdermilk's death, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

The suspect's vehicle, a black 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, was ultimately identified through a combination of investigative efforts that included examining debris from the crash site with traceable serial numbers, evaluating traffic camera footage, and conducting witness interviews, further bolstered by public tips and the Cobb County Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center, as these efforts converged to point toward Bradshaw's involvement in the hit-and-run that, it is important there were many factors contributing to the identification of Bradshaw as the crucial suspect, as indicated by WSB-TV.

Bradshaw, a 14-year veteran previously employed by the Milton Police Department and before that, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, has been relieved of his duties as the department maintains its stance on transparency and accountability. "The Milton Police Department has been informed that one of its lieutenants, Christopher Bradshaw, a 14-year veteran of the department, has been arrested by the Marietta Police Department in connection with a hit-and-run crash that tragically claimed the life of a motorist in Marietta, Georgia. The incident occurred while Bradshaw was off duty," the department stated, expressing their condolences to Lowdermilk’s family and withholding further comments owing to the ongoing investigation, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Terrell Lowdermilk's family has described him as a "sweet loving person, a sweet humble person", sharing their grief with Michelle Newell from WSB-TV; meanwhile, the community expresses shock and mourns the loss of Lowdermilk, in response they've also come together by creating a GoFundMe page aimed to assist with the funeral expenses.
