This weekend's MEGA Adoption Event hosted by Fort Worth Animal Care & Control promises to be one of the largest gatherings for pet adoption this year, with over 1,000 animals awaiting new homes; this two-day event will bring together more than 20 animal shelters and rescue organizations under the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall's roof, located at 3400 Burnett-Tandy Drive, as reported by the City of Fort Worth.
Dog lovers, cat enthusiasts, and first-time pet adopters are encouraged to attend the event which opens on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and continues into Sunday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, with an array of pets from the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control and other regional facilities; potential pet owners will meet animals of all breeds, having the unique chance to spin a prize wheel that includes items like a DNA/breed ID kit and pet essentials, according to the City of Fort Worth report.
Citing the overcrowded city shelters this summer, Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is keen to find compassionate homes for their well-mannered and loving pets that are in dire need of a second chance. Each adopted pet will also leave with a Welcome Home Kit, ensuring that the transition into their new life is as seamless as possible, and adoptees are not left unprepared.
