A two-vehicle collision on the 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace resulted in injuries to four people, including a child, early Wednesday morning. As detailed by FOXLA, the incident occurred on the westbound 210 at Foothill Boulevard and prompted the transportation of three critically injured individuals to the hospital, with the child being airlifted for emergency care.
Following the accident, which CBS News Los Angeles reported as a violent crash, a Sig Alert was issued, causing significant traffic delays stretching from Sunland to Wheatland. Commuters were faced with the sight of debris strewn across several lanes while crews worked diligently to clear the freeway, indicating a scene of considerable chaos.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) established a landing zone at Hansen Dam Soccer Field to assist with the transport of the injured parties. As the helicopter airlifted one victim from the scene, LAFD updated, "A multi-vehicle collision on the westbound 210 Freeway at Foothill Boulevard prompted a freeway closure west of Foothill." They reported that two victims were in at least critical condition, one was in serious condition, and one was in fair condition.
All lanes have since reopened after the cleanup, according to the initial report from FOXLA. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
