Franklin's Fire Department has been kept on its toes in July, according to their latest run report released on social media. With a total of 975 calls logged, rescue and EMS demands dominated the service's time, accounting for a whopping 67 percent of their activities. Out of these, 506 were direct EMS calls, offering a stark reminder of how critical our first responders are to the community's well-being. The data, made public by the City of Franklin, TN - Municipal Government, also highlighted that false alarms were the second most common nuisance, with 121 incidents disrupting the department's operations.

Aside from the day-to-day duties, the department was also involved in notable mutual aid efforts across the region. One such instance on July 11, required a response to a rollover crash with entrapment. This particular accident saw a truck carrying pool chemicals lose control and plunge down an embankment, leading to a patient's extrication and a hazardous materials response. Another day, on July 17, Franklin firefighters assisted at a house fire on Henpeck Ln in Williamson County Fire/Rescue's jurisdiction.

Fires, although less frequent, were varied in origin – with building and vehicle fires leading the count. Eleven incidents in total, with specific instances including a cooking fire contained within a container and a dumpster fire. Even seemingly small-scale events such as a mulch fire or an outside rubbish blaze can strain resources, reflecting the diverse nature of the fire department's responsibilities.

The report, which serves as a transparent insight into the services provided by Franklin's bravest, also sheds light on less common but equally perilous tasks such as swift water rescues and victim retrieval from stalled elevators. Whether responding to the 40 motor vehicle accidents with injuries or the two incidents involving pedestrians.
