Gaston County Police Department has confirmed they are conducting a homicide investigation following a shooting incident near Goble St and Huffman Rd.
According to official reports, on the night of last Friday, at round 8:27 pm, law enforcement officers stumbled upon a ghastly scene—a vehicle with two individuals inside, one tragically succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound and the other suffering from injuries thankfully considered non-life threatening, the latter was promptly transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center to receive much-needed medical care, though their current condition remains closely guarded by hospital staff and police alike.
Currently, the identities of both victims caught in this violent web have not been disclosed to the public, an effort by authorities to perhaps maintain the integrity of the investigation and the privacy for the families entwined in this sudden tragedy, as the aftermath of the gunfire echoes through the corridors of their lives.
