OKC Will Rogers International Airport is bringing back the Global Entry program for a three-day enrollment event for travelers from August 19 through August 21. The trusted traveler program, administered by Homeland Security, is designed to expedite the customs process for frequent international travelers, reported today, August 5 by the official City of Oklahoma City website. This program is especially pertinent considering OKC's upcoming international service to Cancun.
“We are grateful to have Global Entry back for another event at OKC International Airport,” said Jeff Mulder, Director of Airports, as quoted by the City of Oklahoma City's news release. The previous event in April was deemed a success, prompting this reiteration. The process is set to be straightforward – travelers need to create a profile, submit an application, pay a fee of $120, and then schedule an appointment with a provided access code to officially enroll at the OKC event.
For those interested in applying, the City of Oklahoma City’s announcement specifies the steps which include receiving a conditional approval via email and then using the ACCESS CODE: 9E4NA5335 to book their appointment for the August event days.
Besides expediting customs clearance, Global Entry membership also confers TSA Precheck benefits, allowing travelers to go quickly through airport security for five years. Members are able to keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on and do not have to take out their electronics, as per the details outlined in the City of Oklahoma City’s announcement. Moreover, they can utilize Global Entry kiosks at over 75 airports across the U.S. when returning from abroad.
