The village of New Richmond in Clermont County buzzed with activity as over 125 locals, from residents to business leaders and government officials, gathered to mark the commencement of the Liberty Landing redevelopment project. Governor Mike DeWine was present to pivot the first spade of dirt, symbolizing a new chapter in the history of this quiet community nestled along the Ohio River.
The initiative, funded by DeWine's State of Ohio Appalachian Community Grant program, is set to inject $13.4 million into the area. Construction is primed to split into two essential phases, with the streetscape refashioning of Front Street intended to kick off later this month. Meanwhile, the marina development is slated to unfold next spring, aiming to be fully operational by October 2026, as Clermont County's website reported.
