The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), along with several Michigan cities, has found itself grappling with a spate of water service interruptions and water main breaks, prompting a need for urgent collaborative efforts to rectify the situation. As per the City of Sterling Heights website, it was confirmed that an action plan is being put together following a pivotal meeting between GLWA, the City of Madison Heights, the City of Sterling Heights, the City of Fraser, and DTE Energy on Wednesday.
The convened parties are jointly tackling the unusual disruptions that have affected GLWA's North Service Center, which plays a critical role in the water transmission system. At the same time, residents in the cities of Madison Heights, Sterling Heights, and Fraser have been contending with a series of water main breaks. These incidents are causing considerable strain on local Public Works Departments and the communities they serve.
As local authorities dig into the root causes of these disruptions, impacted residents are urged to report any issues with their water service directly to their respective local Public Works Department. The collaboration aims to investigate and develop corrective measures, ensuring that any inconvenience to the residents is minimised and that quality water service is restored.
