Last night, an incident of gunfire disrupted the quietude of Stonefield Drive, escalating a neighborhood dispute into an urgent public safety concern. According to the Constable's Office in a recent Facebook post, deputies under the command of Constable Mark Herman were dispatched to the 13100 block of Stonefield Drive following reports of a weapons disturbance. The confrontation, tied to a previous quarrel over reckless driving, led to at least one unidentified suspect opening fire after a verbal altercation concerning a resident’s alleged speeding and endangerment of a child.
The post on the official Facebook page of Precinct 4 stated, "Deputies learned that after a prior altercation about reckless driving in the complex, two unknown males confronted the same resident for speeding and nearly striking a child." No injuries have been reported as a result of the shooting, but the suspects were said to have fled the scene on foot and remain at large. Local law enforcement is actively seeking information on their identities and whereabouts.
