In northern Harris County, a traffic stop involving a bicyclist led to an arrest after a short foot chase. On Sunday, near the 19200 block of Kings Parkway, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to stop the bicyclist, later identified as Jeremiah Turner. During the stop, Turner tried to move a package from his sock to beneath his foot before fleeing on foot.
According to Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook post, deputies pursued and detained Turner shortly after. The package was found to contain methamphetamine.
Turner, who has prior felony convictions, was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail. He was charged with Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance, with bond set at $10,100 by the 183rd District Court and County Court 9.
