Deputies from the office of Constable Mark Herman recently conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver in Harris County. On the evening of August 11, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 7100 block of Fairbanks North Houston Road. The driver, identified as Rocio Uriostigui, exhibited signs that were consistent with intoxication.
As part of the process, standardized field sobriety tests were administered. These tests aim to objectively determine impairment, and in Uriostigui's case, the deputies determined she was indeed intoxicated. The encounter took a more concerning turn when it was discovered Uriostigui was already out on bond for an unrelated charge of Aggravated Assault.
As per a statement from Constable Mark Herman's Office, it was made clear that "Rocio Uriostigui was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated." The bond for her release was set at $2,500.00 and was issued out of County Court 10.
