Harris County deputies responded to a call about a man unconscious in a vehicle on the 100 block of E. Richey Road. The man, identified as Carlos Muniz, was discovered asleep behind the wheel. After conducting field sobriety tests, deputies determined he was intoxicated. A subsequent blood test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.156, almost double the legal limit.
According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, Muniz exhibited "multiple signs of intoxication" when deputies awoke him. Efforts to immediately assess his condition and his subsequent inability to complete the Sobriety Tests prompted the officers to take more definitive action.
The Constable's office stated that "Carlos Muniz was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated." Muniz's bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 14.
