On a seemingly ordinary traffic stop conducted by deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office last Sunday, they encountered more than just traffic violations. The stop, executed in the 14000 block of Jones Road, landed Emmanuel Moreno in custody after signs of intoxication led to a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests that confirmed deputies' suspicions.
Moreno, whose prior entanglements with the law include a conviction for Driving While Intoxicated, found himself once again on the wrong side of the law; however, this time he was not alone — his companion was none other than an unlawful possession of a firearm. According to a Facebook post from Precinct 4, Moreno's arrest for his second DWI offense was accompanied by the added charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon, a combination that heralded a fresh bout of legal woes.
"Emmanuel Moreno was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail charged with Driving While Intoxicated - 2nd Offense and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. His total bond was set at $200.00 out of County Court 2," Constable Mark Herman stated, as reported by the Precinct 4 Facebook page.
