
A fatal collision on U.S. 95 has claimed the life of a 69-year-old Henderson woman and left a motorcyclist with serious injuries. The incident occurred last week, as reported by FOX5 Vegas, when a motorcycle attempted an unsafe lane change and was struck by a semi-truck.
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. on August 11, on the northbound side of U.S. 95, just south of mile marker 107. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the motorcycle, identified as a 2013 Harley Davidson Heritage, moved into the path an of the semi-truck. The motorcycle was consequently hit and both the driver and passenger were ejected from the bike. The patrol has reported 40 fatal crashes leading to 41 deaths so far in 2025.
The passenger, Chamroon Sasser, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as serious. 8 News Now adds that the black Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck was in a collision course after the motorcycle's sudden lane change.
The circumstances leading up to this tragedy are currently under investigation by the Traffic Homicide Unit.
