A high-speed chase that tore through multiple North Carolina jurisdictions yesterday morning ended with the arrest of two individuals in a stolen Dodge Charger. The episode commenced in Monroe at approximately 10:15 a.m. when a Monroe Police officer, having spotted a vehicle with a fake license plate, attempted a traffic stop. The driver, 23-year-old Ka'Nautica Todd of Charlotte, allegedly responded by accelerating away at dangerous speeds, WCNC reports.
The pursuit continued through Union County, involving law enforcement from Monroe, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and ultimately the Matthews Police. Despite a collision with another vehicle, the Charger sped into Matthews, where the chase reached its conclusion after officers managed to halt the car, WSOCTV detailed.
Subsequent to their apprehension, it came to light that the Dodge Charger had been stolen. Todd now faces several charges, including possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony flee to elude arrest, felony hit and run, and driving while the license is revoked. Accompanying Todd, passenger Asiah Clyde, a 20-year-old also from Charlotte, was arrested and charged with an outstanding felony warrant, as per information from QC News.
