Hillsborough County is inviting residents to join various advisory boards and councils. If you're a registered voter and live within the county, you can apply before the September 26 deadline, according to the county's announcement.
These positions are volunteer-based, and members will not receive compensation for their service. While applicants may be interested in contributing to multiple boards, they can only serve on one at a time, unless the Board of County Commissioners approves otherwise. Interested individuals must submit a completed Application/Questionnaire along with a signed and dated Standards of Conduct Form, ensuring all sections are fully completed.
A background check may be required for certain boards, and candidates will receive an online link to complete it. The link will expire after 72 hours. Once all requirements are met, appointments will be scheduled for an October or November meeting with the Board of County Commissioners, where final decisions will be made.
