Last Tuesday night, August 12, a brush fire was set ablaze at Kunia Loa Ridge Farmland in Honolulu, and now authorities are on the hunt for a suspect. The Honolulu Police Department reported that patrol officers from District 2 rushed to the scene following reports of the fire at around 9:30 PM.
According to the same source, a witness spotted a male suspect who seemed to be in the act of setting the fire before fleeing in a dark-colored sedan, the skinny details of the car, like its make, model, and license plate, remain shrouded in mystery. The suspect is described as being around 5'9" tall and of a stocky build, although his identity remains unknown as the heat of the investigation intensifies; meanwhile, thankfully, no injuries or damage to structures has so far been reported.
The Honolulu Fire Department arrived swiftly to manage the conflagration. While the fiery event did not damage any structures or cause injuries, the implications of arson — a deliberate criminal fire-setting — has authorities and residents on high alert.
