
70-year-old Antonio Vierra was arrested for second-degree arson in connection with a brush fire on Kunia Road. According to the Honolulu Police Department on their Facebook page, he was taken into custody yesterday at about 8:55 a.m. at North Kukui Street and Nuuanu Avenue. His bail is set at $50,000.
A man was arrested in connection with a series of fires in Central Oahu. On the same day as the arrest, a fire broke out near Kunia Road and Leia Street around 11 a.m., burning 5-7 acres. Firefighters contained 80% of the blaze by 12:34 p.m. and 95% by just before 1:30 p.m. No evacuations were needed, and Kunia Road reopened shortly after, as reported by Hoodline.
