
The Honolulu Police Department is on the hunt for a man suspected of an acid attack in Chinatown on August 8, which resulted in a 30-year-old man suffering critical injuries. Through a social media post, the HPD identified Marquis Johnson, a 34-year-old man, as the primary suspect and warned the public of his dangerous nature.
Law enforcement officials urged anyone who encounters Johnson to avoid making contact and instead immediately call 911. The Honolulu Police Department, alongside offering a description of Johnson as a 6-foot tall male with distinctive attire, stressed the critical condition of the victim, who is receiving treatment for the severe burns caused by sulfuric acid. The suspect, said to have been wearing a blue fitted shirt, a dew rag, and carrying a red bottle at the time of the incident, remains at large, and the situation continues to unfold.
