In an efficiently coordinated effort at the Ysleta Port of Entry, Horizon City Police officers, working alongside U.S. Customs and Border Protection, apprehended a man wanted on multiple charges. The arrest occurred on August 2 when Samuel Lozoya, the individual in question, attempted to cross into the United States from Juárez, Mexico, as indicated in a social media post by the Horizon City Police Department.
The Horizon City PD, in a late-night response, reached the port at around 1:10 AM, where federal agents had already detained Lozoya. A subsequent records check confirmed that he was the subject of three active warrants, all for charges of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. The apprehension of Lozoya, who was then escorted to the local police department for processing, went down without any struggles, marking another notch in the belt for the department's track record with nonviolent captures of wanted suspects.
After processing at the Horizon City Police Department, Lozoya was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. His bail was swiftly set totaling $9,000, a sum that reflects the severity of the charges against him. The cooperation between local and federal law enforcement agencies highlights a symbiotic relationship that aims to keep communities on both sides of the border safer.
