A Houston-area doctor has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl he allegedly met on a dating app. Dr. Dwayne Dunbar, a pain medicine physician, faces charges of sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor, authorities say. According to Click2Houston, the Deer Park Police Department reported that Dunbar used several online dating platforms to establish contact with underage girls, befriending them and attempting to initiate relationships.

Dunbar, who is 36 and resides in Webster, was charged following an investigation that started back in February. During his initial court appearance, it was noted that the victim, a 14-year-old girl, recounted feeling drowsy after Dunbar gave her a drink, and when she awoke, she "felt sexual intercourse." The Deer Park Police worry there could be multiple victims due to the nature of the allegations and Dunbar’s reported use of multiple apps. Despite these serious charges, Dunbar has been released on a $65,000 bond, as reported by KHOU.

Dunbar, who has practiced in the Greater Houston area for the past eight years, also holds credentials as an anesthesiologist at Houston Physicians Hospital. This detail adds to the concern about his access to potential victims and his standing in the community. An emergency protection order was also granted by the judge following a request from the prosecutor.

The Deer Park Police Department is urging anyone with relevant information regarding Dunbar’s activities, or those who may have been victimized, to come forward. Lt. Brown can be contacted directly at 281-930-2142 or through email at [email protected]. Meanwhile, Dunbar's legal representation and any public statements made by him have not been released.
