
Authorities in Houston have apprehended Jeremiah Lee Jackson, 21, linking him to a shooting that claimed the life of a 31-year-old man at 11355 Richmond Avenue last Saturday night. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., when Houston police were called to the scene and discovered the victim, who had been shot multiple times, as reported by the City of Houston News. The Houston Fire Department paramedics confirmed the victim's death upon their arrival.
The suspect, Jackson, now faces murder charges filed in the 487th State District Court, and a booking photo has been released in conjunction with the news. As of yet, the victim's identity has not been disclosed, pending family notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. In a strange twist of events, witnesses at the scene directed officers to Jackson, who had remained at the address, and was found in possession of the gun. Jackson, has admitted to his role in the shooting, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office proceeded with charging him.
According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Smith and R. Waterwall, the prompt response from law enforcement led to the swift detention of Jackson. He is now in custody and has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
