A 10-year-old boy was critically injured in a Houston neighborhood after being shot during a "ding-dong-ditch" prank. Houston Police said the boy and his friends knocked on a door and ran away on Saturday night near the 9700 block of Mimbrough Street, according to KHOU.
ABC13 reported that the homeowner came outside and fired a gun at the children as they ran, hitting a boy several times. The man later surrendered to police after they called out to him with a bullhorn. Officers also moved a woman and another child back inside the house for safety. The boy was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police have taken a suspect into custody after a shooting that left a child hospitalized. Authorities said the suspect was brought back to the scene early Sunday morning, but no details or charges have been released. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are asking residents to share any information that may help the case.
