Firefighters responded to a significant fire at a southwest Houston warehouse last night. The Houston Fire Department (HFD) arrived at Rug Mart on 5610 Southwest Freeway just before the clock struck midnight, quickly escalating the situation to a two-alarm blaze, as reported by CW39. Scenes of urgency unfolded as teams battled to contain and eventually extinguish the flames by early this morning.
The firefighting efforts continued relentlessly until 5 a.m. before gaining control over the fire, which appeared to have originated from the exterior of the warehouse. According to HFD, no injuries were reported at the scene. A separate update from Click2Houston confirmed that there were no transported patients from the incident.
Environmental concerns were quickly addressed as Hazmat teams assessed the air quality and potential runoff around the site. Their findings reported no immediate environmental threats.
