Authorities have confirmed the arrest of Demarcus Jamal Coleman, 30, on murder charges following the death of 43-year-old Darcie Roland, who was found fatally shot at 8102 West Tidwell Road in Houston on June 23. According to the City of Houston's official news release, the shooting occurred late Monday evening, and police responded to the scene to discover Roland with a gunshot wound.
Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, P. Michon and J. Robles, provided initial evidence pointing to a gray or silver Chevrolet SUV as the suspect vehicle. Despite the early setback in locating the perpetrator, the steadfast efforts of the division paid off when Coleman was pulled over on July 7 for a traffic violation. Attempting to flee on foot, Coleman was apprehended and consequently arrested for evading arrest.
Upon further investigation linking him to Roland's death, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against Coleman on July 13. As of now, Coleman remains detained at the Harris County jail, as reported in the latest update released by the City of Houston News.
