A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Houston earlier this month. James Brown, 50, has been charged with murder in the death of 36-year-old Joshua Hampton. The incident occurred on August 12 around 9 a.m. in the 4500 block of Pickfair Street.
According to the City of Houston release, officers found Hampton lying in the roadway with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. Investigators reported that no disturbances were heard or witnessed in the area before Hampton was discovered.
After interviewing a person of interest who was later released, investigators identified Brown as the suspect. He was arrested yesterday by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and booked into the Harris County Jail, where he is charged with murder. The case is being handled in the 183rd State District Court.
