Houston police have apprehended a man linked to the shooting death of a woman at an apartment complex on Wild Indigo Street last Wednesday. According to a City of Houston news release, the incident took place in the early hours, around 3:15 a.m., and the suspect was charged with murder and evading arrest.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has yet to release the name of the 32-year-old female victim, as her family has not been notified. Officers who responded to the scene discovered the woman unresponsive in the parking lot of the complex. She was quickly transported to the hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics but was later pronounced dead.
Ismael Holguin, 35, has been identified as the suspect, who was also the husband of the victim. A car linked to Holguin was spotted in the 15000 block of Tinker Street by police officers. The Houston Police Department reported that when officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver, Holguin, did not comply, leading to a pursuit. Eventually, Holguin was captured and taken into custody.
The booking photo of Ismael Holguin was released along with the formal announcement of the charges against him. He is currently detained at the Harris County Jail. The case is under the purview of the 248th State District Court, with HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Elsbury and Detective D. Arnold overseeing the investigation.
