A tragic incident unfolded yesterday morning in Houston, leading to the death of a 27-year-old male driver. As reported by the City of Houston News, the fatal crash occurred around 6:25 a.m. on August 18 at 5500 North Braeswood Boulevard.
As per their initial findings, the Houston Police Department (HPD) revealed that a white Ford F350 was traveling at high speeds when the driver, whose identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, veered off the road. Running a light pole before striking, the truck then crashed the edge of the bridge rail, causing the vehicle to flip into a ravine and stop in shallow water.
The response teams from the Houston Fire Department were quick to the scene, but despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced deceased. Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer R. Saenz of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division are leading the ongoing investigation into the precise circumstances of the crash.
