The Houston Police Department is in the midst of investigating a fatal shooting that recently took place at an apartment complex in Houston's Third Ward. According to HPD, the incident occurred in the 3500 block of N. MacGregor Way, as reported by Click2Houston. Upon arrival, authorities found a man fatally shot inside an apartment.
HPD Lt. Larry Crowson revealed that there had been an altercation between two men in the parking lot, which escalated and moved inside an apartment. It was there, tragically found inside the apartment, a gunshot wound claimed the life of one man as "two men had been seen leaving the apartment in a silver sedan," as per Click2Houston. The shooter remains at large.
During the time of the crime, it has been reported that there was an additional man, a woman, and two young children, ages 10 and 2, present inside the apartment. "They are all ok and gave statements to the police about what they saw," Lt. Crowson told Click2Houston.
The search is ongoing for the suspects, who were last seen driving away in a silver sedan. Houston homicide detectives are seeking surveillance footage to aid in their investigation and to gather a clear description of the suspects. These efforts were reported by KHOU, as investigators work to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting and to provide justice for the victim.
