Last Friday morning, a grim discovery was made at 14099 Westheimer Road when a 34-year-old man was found deceased in a strip center parking lot. Identified as Jessie Mobley, the circumstances of his death had prompted an investigation that is now awaiting results from an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. City of Houston News reported that Mobley was discovered at approximately 9:05 a.m. on August 8, seated outside a business, his lifeless state was confirmed by paramedics from the Houston Fire Department.
Delving into the hours leading up to the find, HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger shared that Mobley had been inside a restaurant at this location on the preceding night. Restaurant employees recounted that after eating, Mobley seemed to fall asleep at his table and was unresponsive when approached. Assuming he was possibly a homeless individual, the staff moved him outdoors with his belongings, positioning him in the sitting place where he would later be discovered.
As police scrutinize the scene, as of now, no criminal activity is suspected in Mobley's passing. Investigations remain ongoing as everyone awaits the findings of the autopsy to shed light on the cause of Mobley's death.
