Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on Richmond Avenue on Thursday evening that killed a 50-year-old woman. Her identity is pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The crash happened around 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Richmond Avenue, and the driver fled the scene, according to the City of Houston.
Houston police's Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Best reported that a woman was struck by an eastbound vehicle while walking along the road. Her walking direction is still unclear. She was taken to a local hospital by paramedics, where she was pronounced dead, as reported by the City of Houston.
Police found a blue Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 in a parking lot on the 2900 block of South Shepherd Drive after witnesses reported it in a hit-and-run. The driver is still unknown.
