Yesterday afternoon, tragedy struck in the Houston community when a 43-year-old man was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 12500 block of Church Road, and the Houston Police Department is actively investigating the case. The victim's identity has not yet been made public as it is awaiting verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to the official report from the City of Houston News, Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks from the HPD Homicide Division stated that patrol officers responded to the scene following a shooting call and found the man with a gunshot wound inside a residence. The Houston Fire Department paramedics later pronounced him deceased at an area hospital. It is reported that the victim was simply taking out his trash when the incident unfolded.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before the victim managed to get back inside his home. Sadly, he collapsed at the doorway shortly after. However, as of now, details are scarce.
