Houston police are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and a man critically injured. The incident occurred Saturday evening at a residence in the 3800 block of Mount Pleasant Street and was reported around 7:30 p.m. According to the City of Houston News, the victim was identified as 51-year-old Angela Perry, who was found in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding to a call pertaining to a shooting, HPD patrol officers discovered Perry and promptly located a 67-year-old male victim in a bedroom, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the critical condition upon discovery with sustained wounds, he was transported to an area hospital where he is currently fighting for his life. As per a statement made by the City of Houston News, the HPD Homicide Division identified Sergeant J. Gardner and Detective M. Providence as the officers taking the lead on this ongoing investigation.
The male victim's identity has not been released, as the investigation into what led to this violent outburst is still at its nascent stage. At this time, officials have yet to determine a motive or release any information on potential suspect(s).
