The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division has made a public plea asking those with any information to step forward in the case of an aggravated robbery targeting a disabled person. The incident, described as both brazen and appalling, took place outside a convenience store on the 90 block of Tidwell in Houston, Texas.
Early in the morning on July 27, around 4:00 am, the victim, who sadly is a double amputee confined to a wheelchair, was outside the store when the suspect, a male believed to be in his 20s, pushed him from his wheelchair. The assailant then proceeded to kick the defenseless victim multiple times before robbing him of his wallet and cell phone. He then fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim injured on the ground, according to the official police statement.
Descriptions of the suspect have been made available – he is identified as a Hispanic male, wearing a navy blue shirt and blue pants. In an effort to capture this individual and bring justice to the victim, authorities are offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Houston's Crime Stoppers organization is actively involved, encouraging anyone with information to reach out directly and anonymously if necessary. They assure that tipsters contacting them through their phone line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), their website, or via the mobile app can remain confidential and are still eligible for the cash reward.
