A large fire broke out at a warehouse complex off the Southwest Freeway near Fountain View just before midnight last Friday, causing extensive damage to multiple businesses, including a family-owned tire shop. The fire burned for approximately five hours and led to the destruction of Rollo's Solutions, a tire, wheel, and body shop that has been in operation since 1989.
Footage from the scene showed flames and smoke spreading to nearby businesses, including a Rug Mart and a car rental agency. No injuries have been reported. According to CW39, the fire originated in the tire warehouse and quickly spread to adjacent structures.
Christopher Leon, who manages the website for his parents’ business, Rollo’s Solutions, spoke to KHOU 11 News about the impact. “This is where the employees have lunch, this was the break room,” he said, also recalling childhood memories of playing in the shop. The fire destroyed the warehouse and caused water and smoke damage to the main building.
Michael Roa, landlord of a neighboring property, received several calls reporting a loud noise just before the fire started. He spent the following day surveying the damage. The Houston Fire Department's arson division is investigating the cause of the fire, including reviewing surveillance footage. The department has also assessed the environmental impact and reported no issues related to water runoff or air quality.
Despite the uncertainty ahead, Leon told KHOU 11 News, "It’s going to be a long road...We don’t know what it's going to be like to navigate these systems and it can seem pretty pessimistic about, but we’re taking it with optimism and going to see what’s next."
