
On Wednesday night at the Las Vegas Ballpark, the Iowa Cubs defeated the Las Vegas Aviators 11-9. Both teams scored a total of 20 runs on 25 hits. The game also included six errors, as reported by News 3 Las Vegas.
The Aviators scored two early runs, but the Cubs responded with four runs in the second inning. Both teams were tied 8-8 by the seventh inning. The Cubs then scored two runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth to win. Carlos Perez, a former Aviator now with Iowa, hit two home runs against his old team. "Perez added a second homer to his line and his 23rd of the season for an 11-9 score and win for the I-Cubs," according to MiLB.
Cubs starter Blake Beers allowed three runs on four hits in two innings, and reliever Tanner Dodson gave up three more runs in two innings, taking the loss. A wild pitch allowed the Cubs’ Ben Cowles to score the go-ahead run. The Summerlin South Little League team was recognized for winning the US championship at the Little League World Series. The next game between the Cubs and Aviators is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. in Summerlin, as mentioned by News 3 Las Vegas and MiLB.
