Calm winds this morning are expected to pick up slightly, turning eastward and reaching speeds of 5 to 7 mph by the afternoon.
The heat is not the only concern; heavy rainfall is also on the docket. The forecast predicts potential showers and thunderstorms before 8 PM tonight, continuing into the weekend. Sunday may bring even more showers and possible thunderstorms after 11 AM, with an 80% chance of precipitation and new rainfall amounts ranging from a quarter to half of an inch.
