According to the City of Janesville, the interruption is due to a private utility contractor performing work on N. Main Street between Centerway and East Milwaukee Street, throwing a small wrench into the usual flow of things.
This closure doesn't just mean a change in scenery for your daily drive; it's also tweaking the routes for Janesville Transit. Specifically, the 4: W Court and 6: BJE County Loop bus routes will have commuters, finding their paths detoured through Street, to Parker, where they'll snag their customary path at Parker and Centerway. And for those riding back into town, the Inbound 6: BJE County Loop will dutifully cross Centerway and trailblaze through Parker to Court to River, before finally reaching the Transfer Center.
The mandatory detours mean that the usual bus stops on Main St are temporarily out of service. Not to worry though, as alternate pick-up points have been set up. The Outbound 4: Court and 6: BJE County Loop can catch their ride at the southeast corner of Prospect/Parker, while the Inbound 6: BJE County Loop will have a stop at the northwest corner of Wall/Parker, ready to scoop up passengers.
