After securing a federal grant from the Office of Head Start, the program is opening four new locations to serve an additional 64 preschoolers and 16 toddlers, as detailed by Jefferson County, revealing the expansion is expected to kick off on Oct. 1.

The specifics of the locations, as reported by Jefferson County, reveal that both toddlers and preschoolers will be welcomed at 11th Ave. Head Start, located at 6201 W. 11th Ave., and Patterson Early Head Start and Pre-K, at 1470 and 1480 South Yarrow Street. Patterson Pre-K will cater exclusively to preschoolers at 7735 W. Florida Ave., as will Daniels Head Start at 1301 Union Street.
