
Last night a man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Houston, prompting a swift police response and subsequent arrest of a juvenile suspect. According to City of Houston News, police officers found the victim, a 22-year-old man, unresponsive inside an apartment at 15155 Richmond Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds.
As reported by the City of Houston News, the shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m., where officers and paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Initial investigations indicated an altercation between the victim and the 16-year-old suspect, who, after shooting the victim multiple times, fled on foot. However, he later returned to the scene, where he was detained by officers.
The juvenile suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, has been referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities and is facing a murder charge. The deceased has yet to be formally identified, with confirmation pending from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Vaughn and C. Davidson are handling the ongoing investigation. After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the charges were brought against the suspect for his alleged involvement in the deadly shooting.
