Kapa‘a residents and visitors, prepare for a minor alteration in your commute come mid-August. According to Kauai County, the Department of Public Works, alongside its contractor The Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions, will be pruning back nature's reach along Hauaala Road, resulting in single lane shutdowns and even some full road closures.
The schedule, as proposed, will affect travels on August 13 to 14 and later on, August 18 to 19, with work commencing from the early hours of 8 a.m. until the dusk settles at 4 p.m., weather's blessing provided. Not mere snippets of time, these intermittent closures could last anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, a potential inconvenience for those journeying around the Makamaka Street area.

Details are outlined in a public service announcement available on the county’s official website.
