Attention King County dwellers: Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is on a quest for your insights. If you're over 60, living with a disability, or caring for a loved one in need, ADS is extending an invitation to join a focus group or complete a survey. Your feedback is vital in shaping the communication strategies about programs and services tailored for you in the King County realm. This initiative is aimed at various groups, including older adults, individuals with physical disabilities, unpaid family caregivers, urban Native elders, Latinx Spanish speakers, Black and African American elders, those from south and east King County, and LGBTQIA+ elders.
ADS, a component of the Human Services Department and also the Area Agency on Aging for Seattle and King County, along with the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, is spearheading this outreach.
Engagement opportunities are ripe and you're encouraged to throw your hat in the ring. There are two ways to get involved: either by participating in a focus group slated for August and September, or by filling out a survey at your own convenience. Should you be selected for the focus group, expect an invitation by Sept 1, and a sweet $75 for your time and insights following a 1.5 hour session. For those ready to make their voices heard, apply through the provided application form.
The focus groups in question will take place in August and September 2025. It's an excellent chance for members of the community to directly influence how aging and disability information and services are communicated and disseminated. Don't miss out; your lived experiences and input carry the power to forge improvements in these crucial services for you and your peers.
