Grab your furry friends and make a splash at Kirkland's "See Spot Splash" event on September 6, where canines of all kinds are invited to dog-paddle, fetch, and frolic in the water. According to an announcement from the City of Kirkland, the fourth annual event is a hit among the local dog-owner community, providing a unique opportunity for dogs to swim in the Peter Kirk Community Pool. Once tired, they can scamper off on the adjacent Lee Johnson Baseball Field for leash-free time.
The event isn't just a free-for-all; swimming sessions are structured and take place at set times—10 and 11 a.m., as well as noon, 1, and 2 p.m., as detailed in a press release. Pre-registration is highly suggested due to the popularity of this event. Still, hope isn't lost for procrastinators because a limited number of day-of registrations may be available depending on how full the slots are. Councilmember Jon Pascal enthusiastically said, "This fun and beloved event brings hundreds of pups together for splashes, zoomies, and pure happiness." More information is on the city's website, including sign-up links.
While your dog dips and dives, immerse yourself in the atmosphere festooned with vendor booths, informational stands, and plenty of selfie spots to document the day's aquatic escapades. The whole thing wouldn't be possible without sponsorships, and this year, the thanks go to Emerald City Orthodontics, paving the way for this furry festival.
