A 37-year-old man is facing charges after a fatal hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 75-year-old pedestrian in Lake County. According to ClickOrlando, Kevin Edward Custer was arrested last night when he was brought back to the site of the crash by a family member. The crash took place at around 9:10 p.m. on Radio Road near Patrick Drive.

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle involved, a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, was travelling north when it made impact with the elderly man. After the incident, Custer is said to have left the scene before being later returned by a relative. He was subsequently taken into custody and is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death and DUI manslaughter.

As noted by WFTV, the victim was walking in the same direction as the vehicle’s travel path. He was transported to UF Health in Leesburg, where he was pronounced dead. The Florida Highway Patrol has taken the vehicle for further investigation, and Custer was booked into Lake County Jail.
