Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel expressed enthusiasm for the event’s return, saying, per the Macomb County website, "We’re ready to shine the spotlight once again on our incredible freshwater asset to demonstrate that we’ve got a world-class fishery right here in Macomb County."
The tournament will kick off at Brandenburg Park, with 101 boats setting off at dawn. Participants will face a whittling down of their ranks until only the top 10 remain for Championship Sunday. The stakes are high with the winner set to reel in a $100,000 prize along with the acclaim of being the best in the bass fishing realm. Anchor Bay, a spot well-regarded for its smallmouth bass population, lies in wait, ready to present the anglers with a living puzzle that swims in its 8 to 12 feet of depth.
