
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation following the discovery of a man found dead in Lancaster. As reported by KTLA, on the evening of August 20, deputies responded to a call about a man down on the 600 block of West Jackman Street at about 10:18 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies found Deonsay McGee Holston, who sustained fatal injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Holston, known by his nickname "Takeoff," had been living as a transient and was recognized as someone who often spent time in and around American Heroes Park. Detectives are now in the process of gathering testimony from people who might have witnessed the incident or who possess any information about the moments leading up to Holston's death.
In the hope of advancing the investigation, the authorities are calling upon the public for assistance. According to an Instagram post by the LA County Sheriff's Department, information can be relayed to Sergeant Mezzano or Sergeant Franco at the Homicide Bureau by calling 323-890-5500.
