The Los Angeles Police Department has released additional images of Efrain Villalobos, the man accused of shooting Fernando Ramirez after a vehicular attack at an East Hollywood nightclub last month. The NBC Los Angeles report details that Villalobos is facing felony charges for this incident, which left Ramirez, who is now facing 37 counts of attempted murder, wounded by gunfire.
According to the LAPD, Ramirez intentionally drove his car into a crowd outside The Vermont Hollywood, located near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, on July 22. Following the crash, Villalobos, now identified and charged, is believed to have shot Ramirez, who sustained a non-life-threatening injury. The new set of photos highlights Villalobos' distinct physical attributes, including ear piercings, and several tattoos with one stating, "Respect is earned not given," ABC7 reported.
Villalobos, a 28-year-old resident of Lawndale, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has notable gauged piercings and multiple tattoos, which include his surname on his right forearm, and another that reads "Respect is earned not given" on his inner arm. A tattoo of the name "Miabella" is also present on his left inner arm, CBS News Los Angeles notes.
Law enforcement officials, investigating the motive behind the ramming, speculate that a mix of revenge, anger, and possibly alcohol was a contributing factor. Sources told ABC7 that Ramirez had been ejected from the club before the incident, was made. After the crash, onlookers dragged Ramirez from his vehicle, assaulting him before Villalobos allegedly crossed the street and shot him. Villalobos has since evaded capture and is considered armed and dangerous. The LAPD urges anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
