The Las Vegas City Council will recognize local Eagle Scouts for their community service and leadership at its meeting on Wednesday. The recognition will be led by Ward 5 Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong, according to the City of Las Vegas.
Earning the rank of Eagle Scout requires 21 merit badges and the completion of a community service project that demonstrates leadership. A ceremony following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting will recognize the new Eagle Scouts and also honor the city of Las Vegas August Employee of the Month, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas City Council meeting is open to the public both in person and via live broadcast on the city’s TV channel. Residents may provide public comments on agenda items, and meeting agendas are available on the city’s official website to promote transparency and civic engagement, as stated by the City of Las Vegas.
